G-Force Dance Academy is a friendly school where our students are taught excellent technique from the outset in a kind caring environment.
It is a great privilege to be able to teach student from age 3-18 and share in their growth and achievements over the years as part of the G-Force family.
Teachers are fully qualified, have an enhanced DBS, first aid and safeguarding training and regularly attend courses for their continuing professional development.
Ballet class is an ideal starter and the technique provided in ballet is essential to creating a rounded dance technique. Our students may start in Nursery ballet from age 3 upwards and love their weekly classes.
Nursery ballet is a rewarding and imaginative class, where students learn the basic principles of classical ballet technique without even realising, they are learning. Students focus on posture and body awareness with gentle turnout and stretching. Children’s young bodies should be encouraged to explore classical technique in a safe way and G-Force Dance Academy holds safe dance practice dear. Musical instruments and props are used and whilst children of this age benefit from starting and finishing their class with the same routine each week which makes them feel secure, we vary the middle portion of the class each week, allowing the children to explore different themes and movements before they leave with a sticker or even the chance to take our resident ballet bear home for the week.
From Nursery ballet, students can progress onto Royal Academy of Dance Pre Primary ballet where they start to work towards their first Class Award. The class still involves a lot of imagination and fun but also becomes more structured as the children mature.
Primary Ballet sees more structure and honing of the classical technique. Students work towards their Primary ballet exam which is the first exam where they go in groups of up to four unaccompanied to perform all their exercises and a duet in front of an examiner.
Ballet Grades start at grade 1, students bring their grounding from Nursery, Pre Primary and Primary through to the grades and start an exiting journey. The grade work mixes classical technique with free movement and also Character dance work. Students can work all the way through from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and the exams are OFQUAL regulated. Students who are successful from Grade 6 upwards collect UCAS points from their exams which they can use towards their university applications.
Vocational ballet Grades: From Grade 5 upwards, students can take an extra ballet class a week focussing on the RAD Vocational work including Pointe work. We have classes in Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation & Advanced 1.
Tap is fantastic for promoting rhythm and musicality, a great fun class. Students can take Tap from age 4 ½ working through their ISTD Tap exams from Primary & grade 1 -6 then the vocational work from Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2.
Modern is a wonderful fusion of styles, combining technique with rhythm, musicality and flexibility, strength and stamina. Modern takes its influence from classical, jazz and contemporary styles. Students can work through their ISTD Modern Grades from Primary-Grade 6 and Vocational work from Intermediate to Advanced 2.
Our unset Jazz classes are a wonderful addition to the dance training provided. There are no exams in Jazz, students always have a good warm up and focus on increasing flexibility and core strength, putting together combinations from the corner including leaps and pirouettes, and dancing to a mixture of musical styles including Musical Theatre, Chart music, Hip Hop and lyrical.
Our Acrobatic Arts classes are led by our wonderful acro teacher, Miss Shannon. Building safely through the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus from Primary-level 8, studetns can increase their flexibility & skill base from forward rolls to walkovers and Aeriels. Acrobatic arts is a wonderful additional class to compliment students ballet, modern & jazz dance training beautifully.
Body conditioning classes are based on Progressing Ballet technique and provide students with an opportunity to enhance their training with specific exercises to promote the muscle memory required for classical technique. Students can expect to see an improvement in their core strength, flexibility, feet and turnout and overall strength when they take these additional lessons.
We also offer adult class in Ballet, Dancersize and Silver Swans over 50 ballet classes.
